Pregnant woman now have a new tool to help them get a seat on the subway.
The MTA is distributing buttons that say "Baby on Board!" and "Please offer me a seat." The latter button is also available to seniors and those with disabilities.
“Pregnant riders, seniors and those with disabilities often need seats more than others but their condition may not always be visible,” said MTA Interim Executive Director Ronnie Hakim. "We hope this campaign will help their fellow riders to be more willing to offer them a seat without having to ask a personal question first."
The pilot program began on Mother's Day and runs through Labor Day.
Many pregnant women have complained that straphangers don't offer them seats.
Last fall, Olivia Wilde Twitter shamed subway riders after no one got up to give the pregnant actress a seat.
“NBD, able-bodied riders who won’t give your seat to a GIANT preggo. I’ll just stand riiiiight next to your head and pray I go into labor,” she tweeted.

In March, a pregant commuter awarded a statue to the first man to give up his seat for her during two pregancies.
Yvonne Lin had been carrying around a bronze trophy that read "#1 DECENT DUDE" in case she encountered an upstanding gentleman.
