Police: 2 Injured in Upper West Side Home Invasion

The residents of the apartment, a 31-year-old man and 26-year-old woman, suffered lacerations on their bodies in the encounter

Two men forced their way into an Upper West Side apartment early Saturday and attacked a man and a woman, police said.

The residents of the apartment, a 31-year-old man and 26-year-old woman, suffered lacerations on their bodies in the encounter, which happened at about 4:30 a.m. on West End Avenue near West 104th Street.

According to the NYPD, the two men somehow entered the doorman building, knocked on the apartment door, and forced their way in when the woman answered. The men held knives and a large flashlight, police said, and in the ensuing struggle both victims were cut.

Police responding to a 911 call discovered the injured pair and brought them to a hospital, where they were in stable condition.
