Police on Long Island say a landlord-tenant dispute resulted in an arrest after the landlord wrapped a bungee cord around the tenant's neck and punched her.
Nassau County police responded to a report of an assault in Wantagh late Friday.
A 30-year-old woman told police that her landlord had grabbed her from behind, wrapped a bungee cord around her neck and punched her repeatedly in the head and face. The tenant said the landlord had then fled.
Police were summoned to the same location a short time later. The tenant told police her landlord had returned and was threatening her.
Landlord Natalie Lapolosa was arrested on charges of third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing.
It's not clear if the 43-year-old Lapalosa has a lawyer who can speak for her.
