Head-On Crash in NJ Kills 2 Women: Police

A head-on crash has left two women dead in New Jersey.

Allison Salerno, 35, of Vineland, was driving westbound on Bears Head Road on Friday afternoon when her car crossed the center line and sideswiped a vehicle driven by 51-year-old Barry Lubin, also of Vineland, Hamilton Township police say.

Salerno's car then collided head-on with another vehicle driven by 48-year-old Providence Colon, of Pleasantville.

Salerno was pronounced dead at the scene, while Colon died a short time later at a hospital. Lubin was not injured.

Authorities say it's not yet known why Salerno's vehicle crossed over the center line.

A stretch of the roadway was shut down for several hours while authorities investigated the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
